Sacramento, California- March 3, 2020: Katie Valenzuela celebrates with family and supporters during her election night party at Vallejo’s Restaurant. Early results showed she held over 51% of the votes in the 2020 Sacramento City Council race for District 4. As of March 12, Katie Valenzuela maintained a 53% lead over the incumbent Councilman Steve Hansen. Katie Valenzuela will become the 13th woman since 1850 to serve on the Sacramento City Council.
